The Night Bakithi Gave Me His Set — My Carnegie Hall Debut — a true story by Robbi Hall Kumalo (MS rŌbi)

October 18, 2014. Carnegie Hall. Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Friends, the UBUNTU festival — and at sound check, less than an hour before the show, Bakithi Kumalo turned to me in front of the whole band and gave me his set. That is how I learned I was making my Carnegie Hall debut.
